Crowne Plaza aides cancer fight
The Crowne Plaza hotel at Bell Tower will be participating in this year's Relay for Life fundraising event, coordinated by the American Cancer Society. Crowne Plaza staff members made a goal of $5,000 which they plan to raise via various fundraising activities.
Already meeting half their goal, fundraising efforts thus far have included sales of Relay for Life apparel during the Super Bowl and St. Patrick's Day celebrations at Shoeless Joe's Cafe, the hotel's popular restaurant and sports bar in addition to a staff-hosted and operated car wash. "Dress Down Fridays," have also been started where staff members are encouraged to support Relay for Life by wearing the team logo and slogan provided they make a donation to the cause.
Other fundraising plans include a garage sale in conjunction with another car wash and a bake sale scheduled to take place in the Shoeless Joe's parking lot from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 5. The garage sale will be open to the public and will feature furniture and miscellaneous items from the hotel. Additionally, those interested in participating from the community can rent tables and sell their items as a donation. For more information, contact Joan Jenkins at (239) 482-2900.
