Oldies are back, now on 92.5 FM
WUSV-FM 92.5 - Fort Myers-Naples has made the switch to one of Southwest Florida's most storied formats, Oldies - The Greatest Hit's from the 1960's and the 1970's.
In October 2005, WOLZ FM was one of many Clear Channel Stations across the country to drop the Oldies in favor of a younger format. Prior to that, WOLZ was consistently the top rated radio station with Adults 25-64.
"We saw a great opportunity to upgrade one of our stations to a huge exclusive format," said Jim Schwartzel of DOS Meridian Broadcasting. "Launching this format fills a huge hole for great music. Southwest Florida is a perfect demographic match to an Oldies format."
Oldies 92.5 will average 16 songs per hour and will be streamed live on-line at www. oldies925fm.com
Randy Marsh, Director of Programming for Meridian Broadcasting said, "Oldies 92.5 is fun radio. It brings back the big voice and big songs of a whole generation of boomers not being served in Southwest Florida."
The station applied for new call letters with the FCC and is now WNTY-FM.
Meridian Broadcasting owns the station and also operates: WARO-FM-94.5, WTLT-FM-93.7, and WINK-NewsRadio- AM-1240/1270 in the Fort Myers-Naples market.
