Film crew shoots DVD at Vincent Salon & Spa

Film crews were making a teaching DVD at the Fort Myers salon recently. Vincent Salon & Spa in Fort Myers was the recent set location of a video shoot for a hair cutting DVD to be released later this year.
Redken's lead stylist and Global Education Artistic Director Sam Villa and an international film crew spent two days at the Fort Myers salon filming a hair cutting DVD that will be marketed to hair stylists nationwide as part of Villa's The Aspire Tour available at www.samvilla.com. The Aspire Tour is a digital education series that shows Villa teaching techniques directly from independent salons throughout the U.S.
Vincent Salon was just the second salon to be chosen and featured in one of Villa's series.
Chris Lewis, vice president/co-owner of the Fort Myers-based salon said the opportunity came about during a dinner conversation he and co-owner Vincent Perri had with Villa earlier this year.
"We have had a long-standing relationship with Redken and Sam and he told us he was looking for unique and interesting salons to use as film locations," Lewis said. "We sent him photographs of the salon and soon got the call that we had been chosen."
About 25 of the Vincent Salon staff were included in the shoot and during the filming learned a haircut technique that allows longer hair to be converted into a shorter bob.
Lewis added that working with and watching the international film crew as they shot the video was an experience he won't soon forget.
"This team has filmed around the world from music videos to specials for National Geographic," he said.
