Eden Florida offers camp for autistic children
Eden Florida will offer a summer youth experience that combines recreation and learning for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder ages three and up at Eden's newly renovated Eimerman Family Education Center, 2801 County Barn Road, in Naples. Eden Florida's school facility is currently in Fort Myers until this school session is over in May when the program will relocate to the new Naples center.
The summer camp programs includes swimming and water safety training, therapeutic equestrian experience, arts and crafts, physical education and adaptive physical education, golf Instruction in cooperation with The First Tee of Naples/Collier, nature experiences, social skill, play activity, cooking and other Life Skill training, and speech Instruction.
All instruction that Camp Eden will provide is based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and all summer staff at Camp Eden are qualified Behavioral Assistants.
Camp Eden is offering these and other experiences for children with autism in cooperation with Florida Gulf Coast University's Departments of Occupational Therapy, Community Health and Psychology to make this one of Southwest Florida's truly unique programs for children with ASD.
Eight one week sessions are available beginning Monday, June 16 and concluding the week of August 3. Base tuition is $300 per week. Some scholarships will be available.
