Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida welcomes Kirsten O'Donnell as the organization's new director of public relations and marketing. Her responsibilities will be to enhance the public image of Goodwill's mission, and to strengthen public support for its mission, programs, and accomplishments. A communications professional for the past 15 years, O'Donnell was most recently a reporter and anchor at WINK television in Fort Myers. She has also worked as a television and print reporter in Georgia, Missouri, Iowa, and Michigan. Her writing and reporting have earned awards from the Iowa Broadcast News Association, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, and the Georgia Associated Press.

Compass Construction, Inc. announced that Vikki Luft is currently serving on the Tender Loving Care Home for Children board for 2008. The "Tender Loving Care" Home for Children is a Not-for-Profit organization founded to allow children of families with sibling groups to remain together when an unfortunate situation arises that cause children to be separated from parents. "TLC" houses children, birth to maturity from Southwest Florida and across the nation when caught in situations of neglect, hard times, and abandonment by one or both parents, offering them the opportunity to come to the home for the love and nurturing that all children greatly need and deserve.

The Junior League of Fort Myers has elected its 2008-2009 Slate of Officers during a meeting of the General Membership in February. The newly elected officers are: Anne Hansen, President; Lisa Muench, President-Elect; Kathy Scharlau, Membership Vice President: Meg Andriot, Community Vice President; Denise Spence, Finance Vice President; Donna Gibson, Treasurer; Shirley Snyder-McLaren, Corresponding Secretary; and Carole Ezell, Recording Secretary. The Junior League of Fort Myers, Inc., a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
