Bonita Blues festival

The second annual Bonita Blues Festival will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 at the Riverside Park in Bonita Springs. The festival will feature fabulous blues bands, diverse and sumptuous food, and vendor booths.

The bands and entertainers scheduled to perform include John Mooney, Blind Pass, Little Eddie and Fat Fingers, Albert Castiglia and Frank Corso. In addition, the emcee of the festival will be television personality Trey Radel from Wink News.

The net proceeds from the Bonita Blues Festival will go to support the Immokalee Friendship House, the Shelter for Abused Women & Children and Healthy Start of SW Florida charities.

The Bonita Blues Charitable Foundation is dedicated to helping the homeless, abused women and children, and babies in our community. Their mission is to provide assistance to local non-profit organizations that do not have the funding or resources to effectively reach out for donations. Last year, the Bonita Blues Festival raised over $15,000 and all net proceeds were given to local charities.

Healthy Start is a not-for-profit 501C (3) organization, working in partnership with the United Way, March of Dimes and the Florida Department of Health. Healthy Start helps ensure that moms and babies have access to needed medical care and other community services to help give each baby a Healthy Start in life. Each year, Healthy Start serves more than 18,000 pregnant women, babies and young children under the age of three who are at high-risk for poor health outcomes.

Tickets are $10 per person in advance and $15 at the gate. For additional information and tickets, call (239) 425-6926 or (239) 947-0715 or visit www.HealthyStartswfl.com.
