Run/walk benefits Dr. Piper Center

The first Legacy Run/Walk and Open House to benefit the Dr. Piper Center for Social Services will be held on Saturday, March 1. Celebrate Dr. Ella Piper's Legacy of mentoring children and compassion to the frail elderly. The race is sanctioned by The 3D Run Shoppe Road Racing Club. Run/walk registration is from 6:30 - 7:30 a.m. at the Dr. Piper Center, 1771 Evans Ave, Fort Myers. The race course will run

from the Dr. Piper Center to Second Street to Park Avenue North, cross the Edison Bridge and return.

The 5K run begins at 8 a.m. Games, food and Dr. Ella Piper's memorabilia will be on display from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

All Proceeds will provide mentoring to over 500 children, service to over 350 frail elderly, and employment and volunteer opportunities to 250 low-income seniors through the Senior Companion Program, Foster Grandparent Program and Senior Employment Program.
