Fox Electronics buys Seattle firm

Fort Myers-based Fox Electronics recently acquired Jet City Electronics Inc., a Seattlebased semiconductor design firm. The acquisition enhances Fox's position as a leading semiconductor company and enables the manufacturer to provide lower cost products to its worldwide customer base.

"We offer our customers a broad range of products at the best cost-performance ratios," said E.L. Fox, Jr., president of Fox Electronics. "The acquisition of Jet City enhances our ability to do this by bringing fresh, strategic technology that is ready for implementation into the market. It also enables us to develop and implement the latest technologies into our product offerings quickly and cost-effectively."

Established in 1994, Jet City was instrumental in the development of Fox's revolutionary new line of XpressO configurable oscillators. Jet City also has pioneered several other cutting-edge technologies and several maskless memories that increase reliability while reducing costs.
