Cantors hold American premier in Fort Myers
The Gulf Coast Symphony presents "Cantors: A Faith in Song" on Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall. Conceived as a PBS special, this show has toured internationally and nationally, and makes its first appearance in Southwest Florida. Founders Society grants awarded
GIVING
The Southwest Florida Community Foundation recently awarded its Founders grants totaling more than $88,000 to area nonprofit organizations. The Community Foundation received 75 grant requests totaling $365,000 from nonprofit organizations supporting Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties. Political animals new exhibit at von Liebig
While the candidates are campaigning for office this winter, the von Liebig Art Center in Naples is offering voters another choice. A new exhibition entitled "Political Animals: Donkeys and Elephants in American Art" is on view Jan. 25 to Feb. 24 and showcases 40 works - 20 of each animal - in media ranging from watercolor to pastel to sculpture.
