"Hot" art happening downtown Fort Myers this weekend

Renowned artists perform and display new works
SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY

Peace and Flambé: An Art Happening" opens at Space 39 Gallery of Fine Art and the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in historic downtown Fort Myers on Saturday, Jan. 19. The "Happening" is a unique event, filled with art, music, live performances and surprises. It will showcase works by three world-renowned artists: sculptor/live performance artist, Lawrence Voytek; painter/digital artist Michael St. Amand and musician Kat Epple. These three long-time friends will be premiering new artworks, re-visiting some of their classic pieces, and are collaboratively creating a transitory celebration of art, peace, and volatility.

This homage to the art "Happenings" of the 1960s is a fundraiser for The Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center and is sponsored by Space 39 Gallery of Fine Art.

The opening reception will be held Saturday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. and will take place at both The Davis Art Center and Space 39 Gallery.

Attendees are encouraged to dress according to the theme: peace or flambé. Admission is free.
