Presidential primaries next month
The last day to register to vote or change party affiliation for the Jan. 29 Presidential Preference Primary election is Dec. 31 at 5 p.m. New Year's Eve is a recognized holiday for Lee County, but all four offices of the Lee County Supervisor of Elections will be open.
This is a partisan election where people must be registered with the party of the candidate they wish to vote for; Democrats will vote for the Democratic candidates and Republicans will vote for the Republican candidates. People who are registered with minor parties or have no party affiliation will not be able to vote for the candidates. All registered voters will be able to vote on the Property Tax Exemptions; Limitations on Property Tax Assessments proposed constitutional amendment that will be on the ballot.
Early voting will be available at these five locations beginning Jan. 14 until Jan. 26, Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. -5 p.m.:

For an easy and convenient, no waiting in line method of
voting, people can request a Ballot By Mail by calling 533-6919. Formally known
as an absentee ballot. Every registered voter can take advantage of this method
of voting.
