New Year's Eve is the number one party night of the year. For those of you wanting to look your absolute best, the time to get started prepping is now.
"There are several simple and quick things you can do to look ten years younger on New Year's Eve" said Dr. Patrick Flaharty, a facial cosmetic surgeon with Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa. "Botox injection is the number one cosmetic improvement women are having today. It eliminates small wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes and mouth. It's quick, easy, and you can be out partying that night with a renewed and refreshed appearance."
Facial fillers with brand names like Restylane, Radiesse, Perlane, ArteFill or Juvederm are also popular choices for women who want an immediate improvement in their look. "Fillers smooth out deeper wrinkles, frown lines, nasal furrows and most scars," Flaharty said. "There may be a little swelling for a day or two after the treatment, so I recommend booking your appointment for a filler at least a week prior to the big night."

What you wear has everything to do with where you are going. Carol Crevar-Stockard, general manager of Saks Fifth Avenue, recommends a cocktail dress for maximum flexibility.
"The major trend we are seeing this year is the short cocktail dress with a great pair of heels," she said. This look works whether your plans include a private party, an intimate dinner with friends or clubbing and dancing. It can be dressed up or down, and cocktail doesn't mean just your basic black. "The color is up to you," said Crevar-Stockard. "That's your signature."
"The younger crowd - those in their 20s and 30s - are going for a glitzy top with a lot of bling, paired with jeans and a high heel that may or may not have a lot of bling." She added, "There is more emphasis on the shoe than on jewelry compared to previous years."

Small handbags with lots of embellishments, rhinestones and feathers are very popular this year, especially those that can be carried in a clutch fashion, but have a convertible strap for carrying it over the shoulder.
With all this glitz and glamour, the trend in hairstyles is less dramatic and more classic, according to Jasmine Cyr, a cosmetologist with Studio RK, a salon in Fort Myers.
"Women attending formal parties are opting for romantic and whimsical this year," she said. "One very popular style is the hair pulled back to the side with a big wave." Cyr recommends the messy, tousled look for women who plan to dance the night away.
And let's not forget the men.
"Men can benefit from Botox or fillers and no one will be the wiser," said Flaharty. "Your friends will be wondering why you look so refreshed and healthy. All they will see is a younger you."
Crevar-Stockard added that a tuxedo jacket with an open
collar shirt and a pair of jeans is "a very hot look" for men this year.
