Goodlette Hodges University announced the
appointment of former State Representative
J. Dudley Goodlette of Naples as a member of their Board of Trustees. Goodlette is currently a board-certified real estate attorney with the law firm of Goodlette, Coleman and Johnson. He served in the state House from 1998-2006, representing Naples, Marco Island and Everglades City. He has served as president of the Naples Area Chamber of Commerce, president of the Collier County Bar Association and chairman of the Economic Development Council of Collier County. He served on the Edison Community College Board of Trustees from 1990 to 1994, and has previously served on The Foundation Board of Florida Gulf Coast University. He also chaired the Community Redevelopment Advisory Board in the City of Naples that was largely responsible for the downtown revitalization that began in 1992.
Dr. David N. DePree, chair of the Canterbury School Board of Trustees announced the following new appointments: • Bruce Galbraith brings exciting depth to the Canterbury School board. He began his career as an educator and served as head of school for 15 years and 10 years as vice president of the Interlochen Center for the Arts and as director of the Interlochen Arts Academy. Galbraith is a former trustee of the National Association of Independent Schools and is the registrar general of the Cum Laude Society and a senior search consultant for Carney, Sandoe & Associates.
Galbraith • Charles Idelson brings dual perspective to the Board of Trustees. He gained great insight into all aspects of the school during the many years his three daughter were Canterbury students. Professionally, Idelson has over 35 years of financial services experience. An involved and dedicated member of the community, his is the director and chairman of the board for both Habitat for Humanity and Hope Hospice and the director and past chairman of the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation.
• Ryan Benson, Canterbury School Class of 1999, is currently the president of the Canterbury Alumni Association. He graduated with a B.B.A. in business management and computer information technology from Stetson University and is currently vice-president of construction at Vision Homes USA. • Monique Ward, Canterbury Class of 1991, children who are now Canterbury legacies. She graduated form Villanova University with a B.A. in human services and communications. As the school's president of the Parents' Association, she is involved with many activities with her goal of increasing involvement and commitment among parents.
