"A Prophecy Forgotten, Book One"
By M. B. Weston (Archebooks Publishing, $27.99)
REVIEWED BY TRACY A. AKERS author of the award winning Souls of Aredyrah Series
Have you ever wondered what life is like for a guardian angel, especially one who has been assigned the task of guarding a child destined to save the Earth? For Gabriella, a cherubian of the Earthian Protectorate Corps, the task is not an easy one. Assigned to protect a precocious seven year old named Tommy, she has no idea that the fate of two worlds rests in his hands, and hers.
In "A Prophecy Forgotten, Book One" in the fantasy series The Elysian Chronicles, talented new author M.B. Weston weaves a story that involves not only the challenges and emotions that Gabriella faces with her young charge, but also the intrigue and treason that will jeopardize the cherubian region of Elysia, and the earthly domain of the humans they have been assigned to protect.
In addition to the well developed and endearing characters of Gabriella and Tommy, Naples-based writer Weston introduces us to Davian, a seasoned cherubian major in the Reconnaissance & Sabotage Order. Hard-nosed and dedicated to the military unit, Davian has spent the past 200 years fighting mornachts, evil creatures who have challenged Elysia before, and are bent on doing so again. As Davian leads the elite unit of warriors under his command, the reader is swept into two fantastical realms, that of Elysia, where unicorns, prophecies, and political intrigue abound, and Morvenia, a dark and foreboding land. But espionage and the threat of mornachts is not Davian's only concern.
Not only does he find himself the victim of betrayal by someone within his ranks, but also the betrayer of his own heart, a heart which longs for Gabriella, but has been guarded for far too long.
For men who enjoy military strategy, battles, and weaponry, this book is for you. For women who require hints of romance, A Prophecy Forgotten will not leave you disappointed. With Out of the Shadows, the second book in the Elysian Chronicles soon to be released, Weston is sure to find herself amongst the ranks of our most popular fantasy writers.
Well written and fast-paced, A Prophecy Forgotten will appeal to even the most discriminating fantasy fan.
