Attorney Wendy Morris, former general counsel for Florida Gulf Coast University, has opened her own law firm - Morris Law Offices, LLC - in Bonita Springs. It's a general practice law firm providing comprehensive legal counsel to individuals, organizations and to small and medium-sized businesses in Southwest Florida, with a concentration in business law, contractual law, estate planning and labor and employment law. Morris has practiced law in Florida for more than 16 years. Prior to opening the new firm, Morris served as the chief legal officer for FGCU, as well as for the university's direct support organizations, including: FGCU Foundation, Inc. and the FGCU Financing Corporation. The law firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. announced that John A. Noland, of the Fort Myers office, and David M. Platt, of the Sanibel office, have been named to the 2008 edition of "The Best Lawyers In America". For the third year in a row, Noland has been acknowledged in the practice area of commercial litigation and Platt has been recognized in the area of Trusts & Estates. "The Best Lawyers in America" is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey. Noland is chair of the firm's commercial litigation practice area. In addition to being a commercial litigator, he serves as General Counsel to several of the firm's corporate clients. Platt concentrates his practice in estate planning, estate and trust administration, and elder law.
