Noreen Thomas, Ed.D., has been named Edison College's District Provost, serving as Chief Operating Officer and providing leadership in all academic, student services and administrative areas. Thomas joined the College in July 2006 as the Vice Presi- dent of Academic Affairs following service as the Provost and Chief Learning Officer at Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan. Thomas began her career in education teaching business courses at the high school and community college levels, and spent 29 years as a community college administrator prior to joining Edison. Her experience includes curriculum development, learning assessments, technology, faculty recruitment and professional development, facilities expansion, student success services, and fund raising. Nichols Jerry Nichols has won the prestigious Community Service Award from Northwestern Mutual Financial Network where he serves as a financial representative. Nichols, who is Chair of the Hodges University Foundation Board, was recognized as an outstanding volunteer, and presented a check for $10,000 from Northwestern Mutual in his name to Hodges University in recognition and appreciation of his volunteer efforts. It is the third time that Nichols has won the Award.
