Public Relations

Two members of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association were sworn in as officers of the state Association at its recent annual conference in Sarasota. Lynn Schneider and Nancy McCarthy were installed on the Association's Executive Committee, which consists of 17 public relations professionals from throughout Florida. Schneider is the assistant vice president of marketing and communications for Shell Point Retirement Community and will serve as the Florida Public Relations Education Foundation chair. Schneider is a past president of both the Southwest Florida chapter of FPRA and the state Association, and the recipient of the 2006 John Dillin Award. McCarthy is the public relations coordinator for LCEC and will serve as vice president of accreditation and certification. McCarthy is a past president of the Southwest Florida Chapter of FPRA and a graduate of the University of Florida. As members of the Executive Committee, each will be expected to travel to quarterly board meetings held throughout the state. They will hold a term of office for one year.
