Florida Rep's holding acting classes this fall

COURTESY PHOTO Youth actors in Fire of Genius 2 at the Florida Repertory Theatre. The Florida Repertory Theatre will offer four new classes for youth and adults this fall. Classes will be lead by theatre professionals and offer community members a chance to gain some insight into the world of theatre and hone their dramatic skills. Two programs are geared toward youth while two others have been developed for adults, both promise to be educational and entertaining.
Wild Things Workshop (ages 5-11) - Have you ever wanted to take a walk on the wild side? This acting class for youth aims to unleash creativity through theatre games and acting exercises. Students will learn to let their imagination run wild while developing basic acting skills and learning the freedom of expression. The sessions will be held on September 17, 24, and Oct. 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 5-6:30 p.m. Rachael Endrizzi, professional actress and Florida Rep Staff member, will instruct this class in the Florida Rep Studio. The cost of enrollment is $90.

Audition Basics (Ages 11-17) - Students in this youth workshop will explore the fundamentals of theatre auditions. From what to wear to choosing a monologue, this class will boost confidence and provide all the tools necessary to get the parts young actors want at school or at the local theatre. This six-week program will be held on Mon- days from 5-6:30 p.m. on Nov. 5, 12, 19, 26 and Dec. 3, 10. The class will also be lead by Rachael Endrizzi. The enrollment fee for this course is $90.
Breaking Down The Bard (ages 14 and up) - Students will learn that it's easy to understand Shakespeare's work and bring it to life using simple interpretation and performance skills, no matter your level of experience. This class will take place on Sep. 17, 24, and Oct. 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 7-9 p.m.with instructor, Jason McCain, a former professor of Theatre, Film and Speech with a Masters from CalArts. The cost for this six-week program is $120.
Adult Acting Class (The Actor's Clue Bag) (ages 14 and up). This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of performance and preparation, developing ones creative potential in life and on stage. This class will culminate in a final showcase. Carol A. Provonsha, a Florida Rep favorite and veteran Broadway Union actor will instruct this unique adult acting class on Mondays, Nov. 5, 12, 19, 26, and Dec. 3, 10 from 7-9 p.m. The cost to participate is $120.
All Florida Rep 2007 fall classes will be held in the Florida Rep Studio.
