Cape gallery showcases high school students
The Friends of the Cape Coral Library announce a new exhibit, which runs Sept. 16 through Oct 30 at the Gallery, located at 921 SW 39th Terrace, off Mohawk Boulevard. The gallery is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Featured artists are Cape Coral High School Seniors and Judy Van Inwegen.
The Gallery will showcase the Memory Project, multi-cultural visual works of art prepared by Cape Coral High School Seniors. The Memory Project grants orphaned children the joy of receiving a portrait of themselves, painted by high school art students. The purpose of this project is twofold: to give these children their own keepsake and promote youth outreach.
In addition, Judy Van Inwegen, a talented local glass artist will exhibit a variety of pieces in fused and stained glass. Ms. Van Inwegen has displayed her exceptional work at shows throughout Southwest Florida.
Friends of the Cape Coral Library are community members and volunteers who support the activities of the library. Annual membership is $10 for individuals, $50 for Civic Benefactor and $100 for Corporate Benefactor. Meetings are held the third Saturday of January, March, May, July, September and November.
