Art exhibit at Sanibel Library

A large variety of oil, acrylic, pastel and digital paintings by members of Sanibel-Captiva Art League are currently on view at Sanibel Public Library. The library staff welcomes residents and tourists to use the services and facilities and to view the artwork, the shell displays, large fish tank and other rotating seasonal collections on display. Along with reference materials, CDs, DVDs, books, magazines, computers with internet access, etc. the library strives to offer unique enrichment to the community and visitors.

Sanibel resident and Art League Vice President, Peter Zell, is exhibiting his luminous plein air landscapes and representational still life compositions that contain strong abstract design elements. The thickly applied colors make his paintings reminiscent of the rich look of old-world masters.

For library hours call 472-2483. For more information about Art League membership, upcoming meetings and Thursday Paint-out locations write: P.O. Box 1192, Sanibel FL33957 or call 395-4518. ¦
