ARTS FOR ACT AUCTION GALA

Last week's 19th annual auction for the Abuse Counseling and Treatment Inc. at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Golf and Spa Resort drew more than 1,000 people.

Organizers didn't have a final tabulation on the money raised by Florida Weekly's press time. Last year the art auction took in about $315,000 and this year the goal was $500,000.

World-renowned artists such as Darryl Pottorf and Robert Rauschenberg donated works to the auction. ¦
