Restaurant chain donates to food bank

On Tuesday, Aug. 21, the locally owned Prawnbroker Restaurant group is partnering with the Harry Chapin Food bank for "Dine Out and Help Out".

Patrons are invited to dine at any of the four SWFLrestaurants which include, The Prawnbroker Restaurant & Fish Market, the University Grill, and Sanibel Island restaurants, Matzaluna's Italian Kitchen and the Timbers Restaurant and Fish Market. The restaurant group will donate 10 percent of the night's proceeds to the Food Bank. For patrons that bring in 4 to 6 cans of food, the restaurant group will give them a coupon good for a discount on a future visit at any of the restaurants.

Nearly 130 partner agencies receive food from the Harry Chapin Food Bank; including church pantries, senior programs in community centers, soup Kitchens, abuse shelters, and homes for children. Food Banking is by far the most efficient system to assure a fair and equitable distribution of food destined for the needy.
