Housing market dips; upturn expected
Expert: home sales should get better by year's end
A national real estate trade group said that it expects sales of existing homes in the U.S. to drop 4.6 percent. Earlier predictions pegged the decline at about 2.2 percent. However, the good news is; a gradual upturn will become more pronounced by the end of the year, according to the latest forecast by the National Association of Realtors. Full Story
High-rise under construction
Construction has commenced on the Moraya Bay Beach Tower, an 11-story beachfront luxury high-rise on Vanderbilt Beach in North Naples developed by Signature Communities, Inc. Glenn Griffin, the vice president of sales and marketing for Signature Communities, said construction of the Moraya Bay Beach Tower is expected to take approximately two years. Full Story
$6 million model home underway
Harwick Homes' newest custom single family model home, The Pavia, will showcase the lake and nature preserve views of its homesite in the Bonita Bay Group's Mediterra project. The fivebedroom, five-and-one-half-bath home, now under construction in Mediterra's Bello Lago neighborhood, is expected to be completed next summer. Full Story
Florida voters expect big property tax cut
But not willing to give up services
Most Florida voters said they were willing to trade lower property taxes for reduced local government services, the only area they would approve cutting is the local government workforce - not law enforcement, programs for seniors, libraries, school crossing guards, public health clinics or parks, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released last recently. Taylor-Pansing completes projects
Taylor-Pansing, Inc. has completed construction on the Cape Coral Arts League Building. The addition/remodel project is located at 516 Cultural Parkway in Cape Coral. Taylor-Pansing, the project's general contactor, and other subcontractors donated materials and labor in excess of $24,000 for the new gift shop portion of the project. Full Story
Car wash coming to Lehigh
East Lee County's first full service car wash is under construction on Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres. "Classic Car Wash 2" owners Jeff London, and Gene Allison, are building a full service car wash and detail shop along with over 11,000 square foot of office/retail space. Full Story
Contractor's Choice completes work
Contractor's Choice Supply, A Raymond Company, has provided and installed cabinetry in six residential luxury high-rise condominiums recently completed by Kraft Construction Inc., said Frank Todd, Contractor's Choice production manager. Full Story
