Fort Myers Toyota new Block Party sponsor

Event a River District favorite

The Fort Myers Redevelopment Agency announjced that Fort Myers Toyota is the new sponsor of the monthly River District Cruise-in and Block Party.

The Fort Myers Redevelopment Agency and Rock 'Til You Drop Car Shows & Concerts hosts the popular Cruise-in and Block Party each month in the River District, on the second Saturday of each month from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., rain or shine.

This past show, there were well over 300 cars and between 2,000 and 3,000 spectators. At 5:30 p.m. the Executive Director of the Fort Myers Redevelopment Agency, Don Paight, had to close the barricades. There was no more room for show cars.

Spectators and show car owners alike say the River District as the perfect venue to hold the monthly Cruise-in and Block Party. There is no registration fee, no spectator fee, no door prize ticket fee, 12 restaurants to choose from, shopping for the wives, great music from Tom's Traveling Tunes, $10 gift certificates from restaurants as door prices, a 50/50 drawing with the Timeless, Traveling Treasures (the 3 T's) car club portion being donated to Relay for Life and other local charities and the other half given to some lucky winner (this Saturday's collection was $1,024) and each month there are cars that haven't been shown before.
