Herocare opens in Fort Myers
Group helps public servants with finances
Lane Houk Herocare - one of the country's only non-profit organizations designed specifically to assist public servants - has opened its offices in Fort Myers. Herocare will service primarily Southwest Florida.
"Our mission is to remove barriers and open doors for those that do so much for us," explains Lane Houk, CEO and Executive Director of the organization. "We're excited to begin assisting the area and welcome any of our community's heroes to contact us for assistance. Additionally, we're always looking for new affiliates."
Herocare helps retired or active military personnel, school system employees including private schools and colleges, nurses and other medical employees, emergency staff such as police officers, firefighters and paramedics, and government workers. Those are the public servants that provide critical operations in our area are often left behind and rarely thanked. Designed to stop that trend and give back to our "Heroes," Herocare connects these people with businesses according to their needs.
"Heroes" as Houk calls them, can call the organization's toll free number to be assigned a personal iCare Concierge. The concierge, typically a former public servant, is trained to identify the caller's unique needs and connect them with an "affiliate" or community business that can provide high quality, discounted services.
Herocare was designed to assist both retired and active public servants to help them achieve their dream of home ownership and financial stability. Through a multitude of affiliates, these dedicated and deserving people can make critical connections and reach their goals. The organization is headquartered at 8695 College Parkway, Suite 219 in Fort Myers.
