Symphony holding youth auditions

The Southwest Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Simpson, will be holding auditions August 29 and 30, 2007. Comprised of the best young musicians in a three county area, the Youth Orchestra is an important outreach activity of the Southwest Florida Symphony. Coached by Symphony musicians, the Youth Orchestra provides quality symphonic training and performance experience for young musicians. The Youth Orchestra also features the Sinfonietta, the youngest string players, coached by Nanette Grant.

The Symphony Youth Orchestra rehearses Monday evenings at Cypress Lake Center for the Arts. The group performs four times per year, including a fall and spring concert at Barbara B. Mann Hall. For an audition appointment, e-mail: manager@swfsyo.org.
