Nils headlines Lehigh jazz festival

Jazz festival lovers mark your calendars now for Southwest Florida's newest jazz event, the Second Annual Jazz in the Park concert sponsored by Smooth Jazz, WZJZ, 100.1 on April 28. Jazz in the Park is a charity concert to benefit Lehigh Community Services, a private non-profit organization that assists low income families with food, medicine and other essentials.

This year's headliner is Nils, a German guitarist with the number 1 hit "Pacific Coast Highway."

The following is the 2007 Jazz in the Park line up: Guitarist Marc Vee is one of Southwest Florida's favorite performers. Marc and his band will be performing new music from his third solo CD and more favorites. Alan Hewitt, the platinum award-winning keyboardist, producer and composer has just returned from his second All Star Smooth Jazz Cruise hosted by Brian Culbertson. His fun & funky tracks and lively performances are winning him new fans throughout the US and Canada. Nils is already back on the charts with his new project "Ready to Play". This exciting new collection keeps his crisp and edgy electric guitar front and center while expanding his pop, jazz and R&B driven musical palette even further. Urban Jazz Coalition brings the hottest sounds of Urban Jazz with a Latin beat. This incredible ensemble of seven top-notch musicians out of Columbus, Ohio and their latest CD, Down To Get Up is some of the best contemporary jazz you'll hear anywhere today.
