Marilyn Manson Breaks New Ground

"Shock Rocker" Marilyn Manson held his first art show outside of his LA gallery in downtown Fort Myers on Saturday, March 31 and I was determined to get a quote out of him. Dinosaur park new at Shell Factory
Miami might have the swanky nightlife and Orlando of course has Mickey Mouse but none of the glitzier attractions offers the quaint appeal of a new dinosaur park in North Fort Myers. The Shell Factory just unveiled its newest attraction - a one-acre park

Something about the towering reptile replicas seems to draw a crowd. Recently the park filled with kids of all ages eager to examine the collection of dinosaurs including ferocious meat eaters and gentle plant eaters. What more apt place than a post office to have the world of art delivered to downtown Fort Myers? You can thank Jim Griffith, 44, of Fort Myers, founder of Florida Arts. He led the way to reviving the old federal post office building in downtown Fort Myers and turning it into a new cultural hub in Lee County. Local filmmaker set to premier new biopic

Local independent film maker Eric Raddatz, who wet his feet in the silver screen while working on the set of "Stir of Echoes" as an extra alongside well-known actor Kevin Bacon, has since produced, written and directed the indie films "A Day to Love and Die" and most currently "Barely a Chance," set to premiere in Fort Myers this summer. More than 1,000 works of art from Lee County students are on display
through May 5 at the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers.

And this in not just refrigerator art; these are accomplished visual artists with tons of talent, organizers said.
